We're Back!! With A Message About Meat & Noses
Welcome back! We missed you so much! Our summer, like yours I'm sure, were full of excruciating hmm hmm, I mean really memorable family vacations with the kids and heaps of crazy that comes naturally with the having of children. In case you're new to the blog, Gena and I are crazy tired moms, we love our kids but we're not afraid to speak the truth about the challenges and joys of motherhood all the while wondering when 5:00 pm will roll around, aka the earliest socially acceptable time to pour a glass of wine for moms:)
I have three boys 7, 4 and 3. They are funny and amazing and make me laugh non-stop most days, but they're boys. They are crazy and with our newest super hero obsession I've had to head them off more than once this summer as they headed up the stairs to the tower to practice their flying/building climbing skills. Every day is an adventure, some that leave mama curled up in the fetal position sucking her thumb by the end of the day, but still there's never a dull moment here.
Last night as I was putting the boys to bed my youngest handed me something about the size of a marble but it was flesh colored and smooshy... as I examined it in the palm of my hand I still couldn't figure out what he was handing me. I looked at him and said "What is it?" Being the quiet type he whispered,
"It's from my nose."
Ugh... the day before he had handed me half a gummy bear that he finally extracted from his nasal passage after god knows how long because it had lost all of it's color. So I said (probably less compassionately than I should have) "WHAT IS THIS??!?!?!" again he said,"It's from my nose." So, after thinking through the day's events and meals I concluded it was actually a piece of the lunch meat we had had for a snack earlier in the day. As I stood there and examined the cooked, mucus covered meat I made a pledge to myself that I would never again eat lunch meat. Just another day with the McPhails.
And that my friends is just a blip of my summer... but we survived and we're so glad to be back ! Annnnnd we're soooo glad you're here with us. Our goal is that you will always know...
New To The Blog?
You're not alone!!
We're here to laugh and cry and raise our cups together as members of mommy hood and to celebrate all of the rich love, laughter and bodily functions that accompany it.
New To The Blog?
Just in case you're new around here I thought I'd introduce myself.... I'm the scattered crazy Earth Monkey Mom Lindsay:) And these are my wonder boys. My Hubbs and I have been married for 12 years and crazy has become our love language. My kids never have clean faces, my house is usually a mess and I always have 3-15 loads of unfolded laundry sitting on my couch. My family received an Extreme Home Makeover about a year ago and it's crazier than ever here! I post once a week here on EMM and also over on my person blog: The Fearless Experiment. We're glad you're here and we hope you'll stick around! More than anything we want you to know that none of us have it all together... and wether your kids are 40 or 4 you're not alone in your journey through motherhood!
