Getting out of the game...the game of "busy"

So Happy to be back!!!
Welcome to all of you brave newbies,
and thanks to all you oldies who waited out our being gone!

It's been a crazy season to say the least.  I have not only changed physical locations, I think my innerds have gone through an almost bigger change.  No, I didn't start menopause, geez, I only turned 40 while I was gone...did I just admit to that???  Anyway, here is the scoop ....
Just recently I became tired of the game.
What game you ask???
The game of busy.
Oh not just being busy, but competing with all of you alls in proving just who was the busiest!!!   I loved to share my list of kids, companies, part time jobs, cleaning, cooking and all of the other things on top of that and the best part was getting to complain about it all!!!  Oh but wait, there is more!  How about all of my complaining that would prompt another mom into a competition to tout  just how much busier her life was because she has more kids (that all play sports! Gasp) she works full time, grows her own organic orchard, farms her own dairy milk and chicken eggs and paints portraits while her kids sleep to earn a little extra money to send jr to violin lessons (that she drives him to 3 hours away every other day) and lets not forget, she VOLUNTEERS!!!  Oh man!  Now that is impressive.
Alright, so that might be a tiny exaggeration,
but u get what I am saying.
Who doesn't feel the pressure to prove you are the busiest???   I saw two hands (you liars!).
 Well, I quit.
Yep I'm done being the "busiest"
and I'm even more done trying to prove it.
I am living this new life of  rest, and I'm  admitting to it.  I now get a huge thrill out of saying I'm not really that busy!  {Because honestly, compaired to what I used to do, I'm not and I love it!}  So who is ready to join me?  Who is ready to give another woman kudos (thats such a stupid word)  for saying "no", for resting, for enjoying life???  Because frankly it's time we all  stop driving each other crazy by our "wow is me" kind of attitudes.  Remember, you chose to have 5 kids...you chose to let your kids play 5 sports...you chose to have 4 careers...we can't do it all, and I think it's about time we all start celebrating the time that we take for coffee in the morning! The time that we sit and read to our kids, when we get on the floor and play with them (trying not to cringe at that one, its not my strong point),  here is a big one...to not just serve the tea at the tea party our kids asked for but TO SIT AND HAVE TEA WITH THEM!   Now that is big ;)... we should make time to have a pastime that you do totally for enjoyment, (Im picturing moms all over short circuiting, with steam coming out of their ears saying "does not compute")  and for goodness sakes, we should get awards for taking time to get a freaking pedicure!!!   Aright, I'm done (did I just hear a "thank God??).
So I want to know, who is in this with me?
You ready to stop competing to be the busiest
so that you can actually enjoy life???
Alright let's do it.

one more thing...if you need a little more inspiration, or permission to "stop", check out Lindsays post from her Fearless blog It added so much additional freedom to me in this area!  (p.s. she is a much better writer ;) )
And as always, would you mind sharing us with your friends??  We appreciate it!  Now go polish your nails in the middle of the day and brag about it ;)

Just in case you are thinking who is this crazy ranting lady?"...well I am Gena
I am a self titled "professional mess picker upper". Becoming the mother of the two, mommy titled "mess makers" was not an easy road. I've been thru the struggle of infertility, and ended up with the two most amazing children thru the miracle of adoption.

I love my God, my husband, and my children (not always in that order) and if I have to watch one more person fill up 15 plastic bags in the grocery store, I may just go ape all over them! I am fanatic about keeping my family healthy (only sweet potato fries here...not judging) and I'd love to see an end to needless waste and crazy excess...
